Aidan Walker is FINALLY a Walker

Aidan has been threatening to walk for about a month now, and just will not do it on his own. The Dr. was even surprised with how active he is that he doesn't walk. However, on his first birthday Aidan took 2 small steps toward Grandma and just yesterday as I was out weeding the garden he took about 4 steps in the planter to get to a plant he wanted to look at. I was shocked to see him just walking up to the plant like it was so normal. In my motherly psychoanalysis of him I think he is having a hard time transitioning from babyhood to toddlerhood. He loves to be held and crawl and cuddle, and is not too fond of his new independance.

Enjoy a couple random shots of our sweety pie.

This is a basket from a drawer system he has in his closet. If you haven't noticed a theme with him yet, he loves drawers and pulling them in and out and taking things out of them.

Reading and playing in his schoolhouse.

This is a pheasant that comes to our sliding glass window almost everyday and taps with his beak on the window. Pheasants normally are very scared of us, so this is amazing.

I'm One!!!

It's hard to believe that at the time of this posting one year ago, Trev and I were trying to figure out what to do with this little person the hospital made us come home with. We are still trying to figure out what to do with him, but he's grown on us. :-)

He loved his cake (thanks Grandma), and had a wonderul time playing with his new toys. He loved the tractor and trailor Auntie Mary gave him. Chloe and Eliot brought their parents over for a nice dinner and cake, and it was an early bedtime for all. Dad came home VERY sick from China so he was sleeping during the party. He was missed.

Aidan has been sick for the past few days, so it has been hard to get a moment to post, but as you read this praise God with us for his gift of this beautiful baby boy.

A New Year

7 years married! We celebrated by having a nice dinner out while Nathan and Kristi babysat for us. It was nice to have some time to ourselves during this busy season. Every day being married to Trevor has been an adventure. Sure, sometimes it takes work being married, but Trev and I have had just one adventure after another and neither of us could imagine our lives without the other. I love my hubby so much and thank God everyday for allowing me to be his wife.

Happy 2008! We celebrated with a nice soup and salad dinner and then rang in the New Year with poppers and pots and pans at 6:30, so a 7pm bedtime was had by most :-). I'm sure the neighbors were not too excited about the yelling, but oh well.

Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa's

After Trev's citizenship ceremony we headed straight down to HB for Christmas. We had some difficulty in that Aidan became quite sick and threw up twice on the way down. Once in McDonalds and once in his car seat just as we were getting into HB. He ended up being sick for most of the week we were there, however we did our best to make it into a good visit. Here are some shots of the babies first Christmas.

Climing out the dog door. He loved the puppies, especcially Wyatt.

Mom got tickets for the harbour light cruise. We went on a boat for about 45 min and saw all the lights in the HB harbour. It was a lot of fun.

Playing outside with Gma! He loved the wagon.

Aidan's first cookie! I guess that's what Grandma and Grandpas are for.

For all the trials we faced with a sick little boy, and Grandma and Grandpa being a little sick too, we had a great time celebrating the birth of Christ with family and friends.
