More fun snapshots

I forgot to tell you all how talkative Aidan is. He can say Mommy, Daddy, Doggie, Ducky, Teddy, Daidan (his name), bababa (banana), wa-er (water), mio (milk) and many other things that we can't quite figure out. He talks ALL THE TIME, and LOUDLY! The kid can really project. If he doesn't know the name for something he calls it Doggie, and if he is sad it's always Mommy. If he's really sad it's "Mimi." We love that one because he says it so sad and sweet.

Anyway, here are the pictures.

Driving the car at the playground.

He loves to SLIIIIIIIIDE!

Again with the fantastic outfit. This is the bunny we gave him for Easter. He calls it "Teddy."

Running out the door after seeing the sprinklers.

Aidan's Goes Camping

For Spring Break we decided to test the camper trailer out that we are using this summer for Camp High Places. We wanted Aidan to have a nice place to sleep every night and thought a trailer would be a good option. It turns out he LOVED it, and slept quite well. We only had one tough night with him.
Our first stop was Collins Lake. It is a little northeast of Yuba City (only about 2 hours from home). The campground was busy but very family friendly. We rented a boat for a couple hours the first day. Aidan was so scared, so we went to the playground. After Collins we drove the trailer up to Camp Augusta to see some friends and stay there for a night. We had a nice time visiting, and Aidan loved camp and all the friends we met.
All in all it was a great trip and we are looking forward to using the trailer again this summer.

Aidan ready for bed, but getting a little playtime in with Bunny. Great outfit, huh?

So scared. Look at that tight grip he has on Daddy.

Back at the campsight and having a laugh with Mommy

Aidan found this old toy lawnmower at Camp Augusta. He loved it. He walked all over like he owned the place.

At camp a getting ready to take off for home. A little dirty, a little tired, a little sick (Trev's allergies), but all in all a happy little family.

He is RISEN!

Mary Owens came up to visit for Easter. We had a GREAT time. Saturday our church put on an Eggstraveganza in Sutter Creek. Trevor volunteered to do balloon animals all day. The kids loved him being there, but by the time he was done he had been tying balloons for 3 and 1/2 hours and he was tired. Aidan loved the bounce house, especially the slide attached to it. Every time Mary threw him back up the slide into the bouncer, he would fling himself down the slide laughing all the way.

I was asked to sing in church for the 4 services. One of the services was Saturday night. This is what Aidan was doing when I left. It was so warm that day, we needed to water the lawn. Aidan was having so much fun in the sprinklers.

Easter morning. I sang in 3 services so Trevor and Mary and Aidan came to the 9:30 service. As you can see Aidan is in his "Sunday goin' to meetin'" outfit. He looked so cute. Pastor Mark gave a wonderful salvation message. We feel so blessed to be a part of this wonderful church family.

While Aidan was napping Mary and I set out all the Easter baskets for Aidan to discover when he woke up. He loved the baskets and had so much fun hugging his new Easter bunny and eating jelly beans.

All in all we had a wonderful Easter and enjoyed spending time with Mary.

St. Paddy's Day

Trevor, out of the blue one day said, "Why don't we go to San Francisco for the St. Paddy's Day Parade?" Of course I thought it was a great idea, so we packed up the kid and headed to San Fran to stay in a hotel Friday night, and see the parade and party on Saturday. After a long night with Aidan not sleeping too well, we headed out to Civic Center to see the festivities. The parade was a little weaker than we expected, but Aidan loved the beads the people were throwing out, and the candy that kept coming his way. After the parade we headed toward Golden Gate Park (it was a beautiful day). We caught the bus through Haight Ashbury and walked into the park. We found a children's play area and Aidan had a great time. We had planned to stay another night but decided to head home and give Aidan a good night's sleep in his own bed. Even though it wasn't quite what was expected, it was a wonderful experience and we had a great time!

My two Irishmen taking in the San Francisco sights.

At the parade. Notice the beads around Aidan's neck. He wouldn't take them off all day and still loves to wear them.

At Golden Gate Park we met this little boy named Christopher who was enthralled with Aidan's blonde hair. Aidan was enthralled with his buckets and shovels, so we stayed in the sand for a long time while these two had a great time.

Grandma's Birthday

A couple of weeks ago, Aidan and I flew down to HB to stay with Mom and Dad for a week to celebrate Mom's birthday. We had a lot of fun playing outside in the garden, petting the doggies, and shopping. The doggies were definitely the highlight of Aidan's week. However, I don't think Aidan was the highlight of the doggies week (especially Jackson). Aidan slept great while we were there, a HUGE answer to prayer, but because of all the excitement he did not eat much. Here, are pics of the trip.

He loved playing the piano, preferring to play it than listen to us play.

If not sleeping or playing with the doggies, Aidan spent most of the time outside. He loves to garden, something I do with him all the time, and Grandma loves to do too!

It was so nice, we filled up this bucket for Aidan to play with and before we knew it he was fully in diaper, clothes and all.

Checking out catalogues with Grandma. His shirt says "Karaoke Kid."

We got to play with Grandpa in the mornings before he went off to the office to do more taxes. Aidan loves talking with Grandpa. He just babbles and babbles like they are carrying on a full conversation.

Right now Aidan is a full on walker. If we are not napping or attemping to eat, we are outside in the garden (read weeding) or sliding down the slide. Aidan preffers not to eat most of the time. It has been a struggle for me to not worry about it and let him work out the food situation. He is a skinny little guy and just prefers to play rather than eat. If you are praying for us, please pray that Trevor and I will be able to relax and not make food an issue. He is a healthy, happy little guy and we need to learn to praise God for his little personality rather than change it.

We love you all and are really looking forward to Easter and celebrating our Risen King with you, whether you are close by or not.
